Below is a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) relating to your role as a Contributor. The FAQs are also available to download as a Word document at the bottom of this page.
1. General
I am due to go on holiday.
Who will take over my responsibilities whilst I am away?
CASH is an evolving and expanding
service. Eventually we hope to implement a ‘buddy’ system to cover absences. In
the meantime we understand that you won’t always be available to contribute
items to the database.
I know someone who might be
interested in contributing to CASH.
What should I do?
Please ask the potential
Contributor to contact the Service Officer directly with the following details:
- Name & contact details
- Sector in which they work (i.e. Primary Care, Secondary Care or Mental
Health)
- Their subject specialism or preferred subject area
- Whether they are already involved in a current awareness services
Is there any scope for me to
get more involved in the service?
Yes! Please contact the Service
Officer to discuss.
I am due to start a new job
and I am not yet sure how this will affect my role as a CASH Contributor. What should I do?
Please get in contact with the Service
Officer as soon as possible and where appropriate provide your new contact
details. It may be that you are unable to contribute to CASH for a few weeks as you ease into your new job. If you are unable to
continue contributing to CASH in the long term, please give at
least one months notice as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding.
I know of a really useful
blog/newsletter/current awareness service. Would CASH be interested in linking to it?
If you find a current awareness
service or resource which you think might be of benefit to end-users of CASH, please contact the Service Officer. The ultimate decision lies with
the Management Board.
Is there any way I can find
out how many people are viewing the information I enter into the database (i.e.
usage statistics)?
The Service Officer produces a monthly report detailing the number of
‘hits’ to each of the CASH Newsfeeds.
This document is distributed to Contributors via the CASH Forum. For further details
regarding usage statistics and service evaluation please contact the Service
Officer.
2. Editorial issues
Is there anyone involved in CASH who can advise me on copyright issues?
Please contact the Service
Officer, who will endeavour to answer any questions that you may have.
Should I link directly to
the document or to the website on which it is hosted?
Enter a hyperlink to the introductory
or summary page rather than the document itself. This should make it easier for
the end-user to find the resource, especially if it has been updated or
replaced since you last accessed it. It also avoids any question of infringing
copyright or affecting the reputation of the publisher by deep linking directly
to the document.
For Secondary Care and
Mental Health CASH, is
there any limit to the number of journal articles I can add to the database?
Secondary Care and Mental Health CASH aim
to cover both grey literature items and journal articles. Journal articles are
of particular importance if they cover a current ‘hot topic’ within the sector
to which you are contributing.
Ultimately you are free to decide
what the needs of your end-users are. This may well involve focusing entirely
on grey literature items or on published research findings.
3. Technical issues
Who do I contact in case of
technical problems?
Please contact the Service
Officer.
What do I do if I need help
entering items of information into the database?
The
Toolkit provides detailed guidance on how to enter items of information into the database. If
you have any questions or feel that you need more help, please feel free to
contact the Service Officer.
I have forgotten my password
for the TIN website. What should I do?
Please contact the Service
Officer, who will help you to set up a new password.
Please note:
