The Epilepsy workstream will be concerned with the following key areas:
- Develop a model of service, based on tiers or levels of clinical complexity
- Ensure patients are assessed and managed by the most appropriate specialist
- Develop a well defined pathway of care and define which services can be provided where in line with national guidance
- Agree referral guidelines for the network
- Agree performance measures in line with national guidance
- Identify priority areas within Trent
- Agree recommendations for service change, including workforce
- Co-ordinate pathway development in Trent - share good practice
Dr Michael O'Donoghue is currently working on a service specification for adult Epilepsy services in Trent.
