What the network is
Set up January 2004 by Catherine Vass (Nottingham City Hospital) and Carolyn Jenkinson (Trent SHA) in response to concerns that EoC activity was being carried out through Trent SHA in isolated pockets; that work and progress was not being shared as well as it could;and that there was no forum for organizations within Trent SHA to access for advise/support.
The initial conception was for a network of contacts (at least one per organization) who could mutually support one another, who could share work and learn from each other. Although such a network could report activity and police progress to SHA leads, this was not the motivation behind the network.
Each Director of Nursing/Head Nurse per organization was contacted to put forward a name to join the network and be included on a "contacts" list. This list is to be accessaible to all so that organizations have a named contact should they want to comopare and share work and processes. See membership/contact list attached below.
The network will meet several times a year (regularity to be agreed) at Octavia House, Sandiacre. Catherine and Carolyn will circulate an agenda (that members will have had the opportunity to contribute to). The meetings will all include a "sharing session" ~a round table feedback from attendees about whats working well (or not do well!) in their organizations.
