Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

COPD

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is the sixth most common cause of death in England and Wales. Evidence shows that 25% of hospital admissions are for respiratory disease and more than half of these admissions are for complications of COPD. Evidence also suggests that COPD is underdiagnosed and misdiagnosed, with as few as 25% of patients being properly diagnosed.
