The East Midlands is collaborating with The Open University on projects related to healthcare technology innovation. For example, The Open University has been pleased to receive support from East Midlands SHA in undertaking an SDO NIHR-funded project looking at adoption of NHS-developed technologies by the NHS. The SHA has been proactive in identifying innovative technologies, developed within their region, that can be included in the research and in facilitating access to frontline NHS clinicians. Working in collaboration with NHS East Midlands, the OU recently hosted a second meeting of its network for staff involved in building innovation capability in NHS organisations: Supporting innovation in healthcare technology: the Open network
The event attracted delegates from across the country including many staff from NHS organisations in the East Midlands region. In addition, the SHA’s Innovation Lead is a member of the Steering Group for the Network.
