FP7 Call for Health now open

Published on 20 July 2011, the 2012 work programme is strongly related to the current ‘innovation climate’ as the Health theme is aligned with the some of the fundamental objectives of EU research policies including ‘improving the health of European citizens and increasing competitiveness of European health related industries and services, as well as addressing the socio-economic dimension of health care and global health issues.’
As expected, this work programme is an important instrument in implementing the EU 2020 strategy objective of creating smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, more specifically linked to the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) on Active and healthy Ageing.

This year two calls are published, i.e. ‘Innovation 1’ and ‘Innovation 2’. While the first call could be seen as the ‘normal’ call open for applications, the latter has a special focus on the participation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) aiming to increase the number of participating SMEs.
The open work strands include:
  • 3.2 Quality, efficiency and solidarity of healthcare systems including transitional health systems
  • 3.4 International public health & health systems
  • 4.1 Coordination and support actions across the theme
