NHS in Trent - The Patient's Diversity Award 2006

This award will be given for the piece of work that best shows the responsiveness to and impact on improved services for the local population served.  All finalists will automatically be in the running for this award, which will be judged by a panel of patient representatives from the presentations given to the final judging panel.

In creating the “Patient-Led NHS” the winners will have demonstrated how they have truly entered into partnership with patients, carers and service users.

They will have designed enhanced ‘health care experiences’ as well as improved processes and be able to show how people’s lives, lifestyles and expectations are considered by health care providers.

The winning submission will reflect a clear understanding of differences and diversity.

The judging criteria from which the Patient Panel will be working are as follows:

  • You have shown that you are aware of the local demographic trends in the community for whom you are providing services, and used these to design services
  • You have shown how you have consulted with patients and the diverse groups within your community
  • You have shown how your service impacts on the local diverse community
  • You have shown how your work has been evaluated and how learning has been passed on
